Love D-I-Y electronics? You're into digital music?
This is the right place for you.
G.M. LAB is the name we decided to give to our "Genuine Midi" projects that you can build by yourself or buy pre-assembled.
As Crumar and GSi, we design, manufacture and market professional quality digital musical instruments. On top of that, we also wanted to give our customers the ability to add some more electronic "utilities" that can be easily integrated with existing music rigs to help musicians get the best out of their equipment.
Since we're living the era of open-source, why not take advantage of it and give the users the ability to customize these projects or make them with the lowest possible budget? All of our projects are based on Arduino, possibly the most famous and easy to program existing framework for programming micro-controllers.
All of our projects can be ordered either pre-assembled at the factory or as do-it-yourself kits, complete with all parts and instructions for the assembly and programming. All source files are freely available on our GitHub account.
All of our projects can be bought and paid with PayPal directly from this website or on our online outlet My Rig Shop.
Our projects are mostly MIDI controllers. The D9U and the D9X are drawbar controllers for digital organs, MJU can be used to MIDI-fy a pedal (expression, sustain, etc.), but can also be re-programmed as an event processor. More projects will come next and will be added to this page.
Rondò is a simulation of a classic string machine. Not a reproduction of a specific existing model, but inspired by some of the most famous string keyboards of the seventies,
such as the ARP Solina, the Logan String Melody and the SIEL Orchestra.
It offers 3 string registers plus one bass, features the classic attack-release envelope generator with break-point
(which was mainly used to mimic the presence of a natural reverberation without using an additional reverberator),
vibrato and a classic chorus/flanger effect that gives that distinguishable shimmer to the sound.
A classic 4-stage phaser effect completes the set.
This project is sold as d-i-y kit or pre-assembled.

The X1000 is a monophonic synthesizer ispired by the vintage JEN SX1000. More than an emulation, it's an experiment that evolved in something actually usable.
It's based on a single Raspberry Pi Pico board (with CPU RP2040) that is capable of playing the whole synthesizer structure (one oscillator + noise generator, one filter,
two envelopes and one LFO generator) and also manage MIDI and the control panel. The downside of all this is the sample rate that operates at 24 KHz.
Still, it sounds nice and fat.
This project is sold as d-i-y kit or pre-assembled.

The Pico-Synth is an expanded version of the X1000 that requires two Raspberry Pi Pico boards, one exclusively dedicated to the sound generation and the other one
dedicated to MIDI and panel management. It offers two oscillators with sync, one filter, one LFO, one envelope with pitch modulation, a delay unit and built-in preset management.
This project is sold as d-i-y kit or pre-assembled.

D9U is a simple 9-drawbar controller. Simple as that.
One button on the back lets you switch between two banks of CC numbers that can control either the upper or the lower manual of a clonewheel organ.
Compatible with Crumar Mojo / Mojo61, GSi VB3-II and many other products.

D9X is the "extended" 9-drawbar controller, with all buttons and knobs that you need for full hands-on control of your clonewheel software or hardware module.
Compatible with Crumar Mojo / Mojo61, GSi VB3-II and many other products.

Midi Jack USB. Connect your pedal accessory (Expression, Sustain, or half-moon switch), configure it using the display and the buttons, and have it
converted to MIDI messages. Has standard DIN5 MIDI input and output, supports POWER-over-MIDI. Great with those keyboards that do not have an expression pedal input.
Can be used with organ for "bass note tap" by assigning a note event to trigger with a standard sustain pedal. Or can be used in conjunction with an Half-Moon switch
(Crumar, Hammond, Nord or vintage) to switch the speeds of a rotary effect simulator. Can be reprogrammed to act as a MIDI event processor.

Four-port Switchable Thru Box. ST4 is a "Four port Swtichable Thru Box", practically an easy and simple Midi Router, useful to control up to four synthesizers (or other MIDI devices)
from one keyboard and switch quickly between them. Imagine you have one keyboard and up to four sound modules (synthesizers, drum machines, samplers, expanders, etc.)
and you want to select which one you want to play from your keyboard. Just push the correspondent button and play, in any combination you like.
The advantage of this box is that it will take into account notes still playing when the buttons are turned off, in order to avoid unwanted hung notes or incomplete Midi events.
It can also function as a Usb-Midi interface.

UP4 is a USB-Midi expression pedal. Will be sold pre-assembled, pre-programmed with the default firmware that allows channel selection (1~16),
CC number (11, 4, 2, 7) and response curve via internal DIP-Switches. Of course, being open-source, it can be reprogrammed any way you like.
Based on a sturdy plastic short travel continuous pedal, it's ideal for all those situations where an expression pedal is needed to control a software but
our keyboard controller lacks a jack for an expression pedal.
